Every review below is submitted by a real client and manually approved before it goes live. Taken together, they're a big part of why MAZ Tattoo keeps getting named alongside the best tattoo shops in Baltimore by people who've been tattooed all over the city.
“I'd been to a couple of the bigger walk-in tattoo shops in Baltimore before finding MAZ Tattoo, and the difference in attention is night and day. MAZ spent almost half an hour just adjusting the stencil placement on my forearm before we even started. The fine line work healed razor sharp.”
“Drove over from Catonsville after seeing the portfolio online and it was worth every mile. Booked a black and grey piece on my calf and the shading has real depth to it, not flat like some of the other tattoo shops Catonsville has closer to home.”
“Booked a small fine line piece as a walk-in inquiry on a Saturday and MAZ fit me in the same afternoon. Clean process, clear pricing, no surprises with the deposit.”
“Saw MAZ's booth at the Baltimore tattoo convention two years running before finally booking a full sleeve session. The convention pieces are not a different standard from the studio work — I got exactly that same quality on my own arm.”
“Really happy with my lotus piece, the linework is beautiful. Only reason it's not five stars is that it took a couple weeks to get a booking slot since MAZ reviews every inquiry personally, but honestly that's also why the work is so good.”
“Honestly one of the best tattoo shops in Baltimore I've used, and I've been to several downtown. The deposit and booking process was totally transparent up front, which I appreciated after a bad experience elsewhere.”
“Made the drive up from DC for a floral half sleeve after months of research and don't regret a single mile. MAZ's shading style is exactly the soft black and grey look I'd been trying to find in the DC area.”
“Wanted a specific realism piece that's outside MAZ's usual focus, and instead of turning me away he matched me with one of his guest artists who nailed it. The whole process still felt handled personally start to finish.”
“Booked a geometric mandala on my shoulder and the linework is razor clean, every petal lined up perfectly. Worth the drive from Arlington, no question.”
“Solid black and grey skull piece, healed beautifully. Only note is the booking window fills up fast, so plan ahead if you're coming from Northern Virginia like I did.”
“The custom consultation was thorough — MAZ actually listened to what I wanted instead of pushing his own idea onto my sleeve. I've made the trip from Fairfax twice now and both sessions were worth it.”
“Grabbed a walk-in flash piece on a whim and it turned out better than pieces I've paid way more for at other tattoo shops. Close enough to Arbutus that I'll be back for something bigger.”
“Arranged a destination session and MAZ came down to make it happen. Professional the whole way through, and the travel logistics were easy once the deposit was sorted.”
“Been to a few tattoo shops around the DC area and this was a different level of care. The compass piece on my forearm gets compliments constantly.”
